Neon glass bending and processing remains a highly specialized activity, and few businesses are willing to invest in creating and staffing a full-time neon plant when the demand isn’t as great as it once was.
These days, when a design firm, sign company, or fabrication shop needs neon created, they turn to a place like Lightship Neon to provide neon on-demand.
We’ve been very fortunate to develop a relationship like that with Wellcraft Manfuacturing in Richmond, Virginia. Wellcraft’s team of designers and fabricators come up with some truly incredible pieces, and when they need to light them up with the unique glow of neon, they know to call us to add that extra touch. We work fully digitally with them, passing vector files back and forth in an iterative process, to communicate size, placement, and best practices for incorporating neon into interior and exterior signage

Lightship Neon provided the white neon letters and bullnoses for this incredible suspended sign in the Carytown neighborhood of Richmond, Virginia.

Warm white tubing in 12mm diameter, with doubleback electrodes. Neon on greenery is a very popular look (see our "Your Mental Wellness Matters" for another example), we provided the neon and Wellcraft did the rest.
Yellow-green tubing pumped with red neon gas to create this stunning orange color. Neon bending and processing here at Lightship, assembly and installation by Wellcraft.
We just love this double-sided deli sign! Made with 6500 cool white neon tubing and 90º penetrating electrodes, it's a recreation of an original sign from the 1930s.
