When Rocket Farm Restaurants chose to bring their Little Rey franchise to Raleigh Iron Works, we were thrilled to be invited to collaborate with them on adding a variety of neon elements to their new space.

Bringing all this neon to life involved a number of partners, including metal fabrication and installation performed by McCorkle Signs of Durham, hand-painted elements by Joseph Giampino of SPCLSIGNS in Raleigh, custom neon animation controllers built by Tech22 Neon Power in California, and collaboration with both Rocket Farm Restaurants and Choate Construction as the product owner & site construction team respectively.

Lightship Neon created hand-painted, neon-illuminated pan signs, channel letters, blade signs, and neon border tubing inside the restaurant, along with backlit lightbox signs for the TO GO window and interior bathrooms.

Little Rey and Raleigh Iron Works wanted to add something really distinctive to the exterior of the restaurant, to help direct folks along the patio to the entrance of the restaurant. The solution was this four-stage animated walking chicken, made in custom neon tubing and controlled by a custom animator. The end result is a strutting chicken encouraging everyone to follow along and visit the restaurant.

See these neon signs in person at Little Rey, located at 1101 E Whitaker Mill Rd, Raleigh NC 27604
